Increase Foot Traffic With These Storefront Tips
If you have a local store, you might be looking to increase foot traffic. While there are a lot of ways to advertise a business, from online to print advertisements, getting more attention from people walking or driving past your store can make a drastic impact on your daily sales. Here are some different ways to improve your storefront so more people are interested in checking out what you have.
1. Put Your Second Best Up Front
You will notice that a lot of people recommend putting your very best in the window display or near the front of your store, but this isn't the best idea. If your most popular items are upfront, then the customer doesn't have much else to find when they enter the store. A better idea is to place your second best in the window display, which should be something many customers seem to enjoy or that is new to the store, but then have your best items a little further in the store. When someone sees the items in the display, they are interested enough to enter, then they find even more great stuff as they make their way through the store.
2. Change Your Displays Regularly
It can be hard to let go of a really good window display, but it is important if you want people to come inside. If you are on a street where many people walk by, they might pass up one window display, but then walk by a few days later and see something new that catches their eye. This is the reason you need to switch up your display often. It should include some of the newer items in the store, as well as seasonal items. If it near the end of the year, then people are looking for clothing for their New Year's parties. Put some of those items in the window in the last week of December, and you are sure to get some good business.
3. Improve Your Signage
Having signs in front of your store is absolutely essential, but think about the types of signs you have. The first thing you need to remember is that they should be easy to read from a distance, so that someone across the street or driving by can see it. You also want to use signage that is lit up so people can see it on gloomy days or at night if you are open after the sun goes down. LED signs are usually chosen for this purpose, since they are cost-effective, very easy to read from any distance, and are friendly to the environment.
